Welcome to the Autumn 2017 issue of Accelerating News. In this issue, we present highlights from recent events within accelerator science, including updates on health and space research and details from the latest CERN Superconductivity Hackathon.
Moreover, we detail new technology designs and projects including an update on the reliability and availability training.
We also caught up with Fermilab's Head of Theoretical Physics, Marcela Carena and provide a short overview of EuCARD's achievements. Finally, we welcome CompactLight a new H2020 project that will design the first hard X-ray Free Electron Laser
